Wax Aftercare
Showering
Showering post wax is not a problem, just make sure the water is lukewarm so the heat will not create more irritation in an already irritated area. I would also recommend not using any strongly scented soaps or any at all for the first 24 hrs in the treated areas. Finally, a clean towel can never hurt, when your skin is irritated and your pores have been stressed bacteria can easily find their way in.
Scrubbing
I do not recommend scrubbing in general, unless it is in very specific cases, but I especially do not recommend it 2-3 days post wax. This will only create more irritation while the skin is healing.
Sun
We love the sun, but right after a wax it can be a bit tricky. Ideally you would wait a day or two and if you can't just make sure to use a good quality SPF on the treated and exposed areas.
Clothing
The best you can wear for an appointment (especially a first appointment) is breathable, loose clothing. Preferably of natural materials such as cotton or linen.
Sauna/Pools
I would recommend waiting at least a day to visit the sauna or a public pool after a wax, just to be sure the area is not being overly irritated. Heat, chlorine, and bacteria are not very friendly to irritated skin. This is especially the case for first timers.
Lotions
I would recommend to leave the area free of anything that can get into the pores. There are people that like applying some Bepanthen to support skin healing but this is certainly not mandatory. Any other lotions, they are not necessary.
Sex
In general it is okay to have sex after a Hollywood wax if you're used to it, but if it is your first time I highly recommend abstaining for a day or two, depending on how your skin feels and looks.
